Suzanne is a keen photographer and her favorite motifs are sunrises and sunsets and she has easy access for exploring that since she lives close to the coast.
She finds many symbols in nature and to her a sunrise symbolize “New beginning” and a sunset “Thank you for today, I now go to rest peacefully.”
Another element of the cover is the clam shell with a pearl, which is one of her favorite gems.
Therefore, it is her hope for you, dear reader, that you enjoy her sunrise with the clam shell and pearl and by reading her book you will find "new beginnings and the hidden gem of a pearl inside you!"
"One of the worst stressors you might experience as a human being is the notion of uncertainty. Therefore, I encourage you to take the stress test in order to find out if you are indeed stressed or simply living life in the fast lane. It goes without saying that this applies for all individuals despite profession or career.",
Suzanne Hird
Stress is a growing problem in modern society and you need methods, techniques and tools to manage, handle and cope with it.
During an interview, W.C. Fields was once asked what his viewpoint was on sex and he responded, “I believe it has come to stay!”, which is also Suzanne’s response when asked what her viewpoint is on stress.
How To Manage Stress is based on scientifically proven theory, hard evidence and occupational psychology with notions related to the psychological workplace environment.
In combination with Suzanne Hird’s experience during her career as HR Manager and independent consultant, the book has a hands-on and practical approach to dealing with stress as Hird has put a lot of effort in converting complex theory into simple techniques that are easy to follow.
How To Manage Stress provides a wide range of solutions to solve issues related to stress, problems, conflicts, communication, and finding your core values in life.
Hird helps you handling and come to terms with the stress in your life and teaches you how to cope with everyday problems at work and in life through specific methods, tools exercises, techniques and lessons learned.
You will understand “why” you get stressed from a psychological aspect and have work-life balance tools. Read it cover to cover or use it as a hand book for resolutions to issues coming up at work as a manager, associate, employee or private individual.
The book also deals with three unique issues that you most likely do not find in any other book.
1) is an understanding of that part of the personality psychology that describes the reason why you have become the person you are and also how to grow should you feel stuck.
2) is how to cancel your membership of the Mr. Nice Guy and Ms. Doormat Club whilst staying who you are and earning respect from others in doing so.
3) is a check-up and overhaul of you and your life—a check-up that should be performed several times a year in order to stay fit, happy, and stress-free. It provides motivation for inspiring solutions, which allows you to act in an active, purposeful, and constructive manner for the benefit of yourself, your family, your colleagues, and the workplace.
How To Manage Stress leaves you with a greater understanding of the psychological workplace environment, what stress really is, and the dynamics of your personality that causes you to experience stress or not.
It is a MUST-read for anyone who is interested in living a stressfree (work) life!

Danish author who wants to remain anonymous
While going through a personal crisis in combination with grieving the loss of a close family member to a stress related stroke, she too suffered a stress breakdown.
To get back on track, she worked her way through the breakdown by using the methods she uses for helping her clients and was indeed her own coach experiencing first-handedly the effect of her tools and techniques.
This was a very challenging time of her life, however also one of learning and personal growth.
One take-away she learned the hard way is that you need to take care of yourself and fill your own cup first in order to help others.
Another take-away was indeed to be your own manager of life and hold yourself accountable for your choices and actions.
The combination of her educational skills and hands-on-experience both personally and professionally has resulted in her being a capacity in her field. It has enabled her in a more profound way to create and provide sustainable and proven results for her clients and customers especially as she also speaks and understand the language of businesses and entrepreneurs.
